Our union of over 20,000 healthcare workers across Washington State ranges from private healthcare systems to public district hospitals and everywhere in between. We have relentlessly fought for and won:

• Some of the largests wage increases for Healthcare workers.

• Victories against companies attempts to weaken our contracts and benefits.   

• Stronger staffing laws and enforceable staffing standards in our contracts that ensure workers have a voice in staffing schedules for meal and rest breaks. 

• Two strikes against Providence who was breaking labor law, not taking patient care seriously enough, and not paying us what we are worth. 

• More healthcare workers into our union, growing our power at some of the biggest employers we represent. 

Going forward join the fight alongside healthcare workers across the Northwest to:

• Make enforceable safe staffing ratios a standard at every facility, with real limits that protect workers and patients, and have tough penalties for violations.

• Increase our pay so that it reflects the skill and training we have and the value we provide to our communities and patients. 

• Win strong pensions for retirement and union healthcare that is not controlled by the company. 

• Create an education and training fund to support career advancement and to train the next generation of healthcare workers. 

• Organize the not yet organized, so every healthcare worker has a union and a voice on the job, to better care for ourselves and our patients. 

• Fight for more affordable housing.
